Wattle Tree
Acacia Pycnantha
Australian Native Flora
The Wattle tree is in the Fabaceae family. This tree grows to 8 meters tall (26ft). When the Wattle tree flowers the tree is covered with small ball like flowers in appearance.
The golden flowers are very fine. The wood from the truck of the tree is used for making cutting boards and bowls.
The leaves are very fine and point upwards on the branch. The yellow glow is the bright Wattle flowers. The blur at the front left on my image shows the yellow flowers.
Usually at the end of August each year we have the Hurstbridge Wattle Festival. A steam train departs Hurstbridge and travels to Eltham train station on the Hurstbridge train line in Melbourne Australia. The steam train only travels the end part of the train line to show the Wattle trees as you view from the train.
